Our History
Oakham Auction Centre was founded back in June of 1983 by Jeff and Margaret Dale. As we approach our 40th anniversary in 2023, we can’t help but feel proud of how far we’ve come over the years.
Our journey started on Station Road in Oakham, where we quickly became a household name amongst the locals for our exceptional service and vast array of items on offer. As we continued to grow, we found ourselves relocating to South Street before finally settling into our current premises on Pillings Road.
With thousands of items sold over the years, we’ve become a staple in the local community, and our auction record stands at an impressive £48,000 for a stunning pair of George II Gilt Mirrors. We are very proud that over the years we have helped may local organisations and charities to raise thousands of pounds providing our services for charity auctions.
As a family-run business, Oakham Auction Centre has always prided itself on offering a warm and friendly service. Jeff and Margaret’s daughter, Emma, joined the team in 1998, bringing with her a fresh perspective and a passion for helping clients achieve the best possible prices for their items.
